Artist Kate Spence presents an exhibition of work exploring the idea of being able to stop time, to live eternally in those moments we wish would never end, and also the feeling of being stuck in a feeling, a memory, that perhaps would be good for us to move on from but for whatever reason we struggle to let go.
Kate uses still images from her film work and narrative from Alan Lightmans book 'Einstein's Dreams', a fictional imagining of Einstein's dreams on the notion of time, to express moments of dreamlike states of intense emotion, intended to last for a second but, left as still images, remain like statues or ghosts of memories.
