Worcestershire Dancing

Worcestershire Dancing

Dancefest presents Worcestershire Dancing, celebrating the excellence of dance taking place in education across the county. All Schools and colleges from primary to further education have been invited to apply and the work selected has been chosen to represent quality, creativity and progression.

It’s the culmination of a year that included eleven Dancefest in Education festivals, with over 1,000 children and young people taking part. Worcestershire Dancing aims to build on the work done in these festivals by providing the chance to perform in a professional theatre to a public audience.

Dancefest exists to enable anyone to experience the joy of dance. In their eyes everyone is a dancer, regardless of age, ability or experience. Their work is about joining in – they run over 30 weekly classes across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, have six community performance companies, including an inclusive company, and lead projects in schools, colleges and universities as well as in community settings, such as residential homes. Dancefest encourages curiosity - about contemporary dance, who dances, where dance happens - and many of their performances take place in unusual spaces and places.
