The Embroiderers’ Guild: Capability Brown Landscapes

The Embroiderers’ Guild: Capability Brown Landscapes

2016 marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown

An opportunity to see a display of unique and specially created textile work based around the typically English scene of landscapes and stately gardens.

Artists Statement: The Embroiderers’ Guild aims to nurture an enjoyment of embroidery and enable anyone to participate at any level, whether young people learning to stitch, professional artists or someone who simply appreciates fabric and thread.  We believe textiles are as relevant today as they have ever been, and there is a place for both the traditional, fine hand stitching alongside the bold and contemporary machine work.  Both adult and Young Embroiderers’ branches exist across the country – visit us and be introduced to the life-long fun that can be found in fabric and thread.
