New Season Announced for Autumn/Winter 2019

With a programme that’s packed full of the best in music, comedy, cinema, theatre and workshops you’ll need to look no further than Artrix for the hottest tickets this autumn. Here are the listings for September and October:

LIVE MUSIC

Maintaining a growing reputation as Worcestershire’s go-to venue for great live music, Artrix presents a season of music with something for everyone.

Following our first season of New Sounds in the Studio, we’re bringing more acts to Bromsgrove combining the energy and passion of new Folk with the excitement and soul of other musical influences.

Why not try out our World of Sounds Taster Ticket: 4 acts for just £30! John Blek (Ireland), Duotone (England), Jenny Sturgeon (Scotland), Poor Nameless Boy (Canada). All four tickets must be purchased together by 5th September - buy online here.

On Saturday 21 Sept we welcome back female rock guitar prodigy Chantel McGregor 'Boy, can that girl play guitar!'. On Friday 6 Oct BBC award winning folk musician Luke Daniels visits Artrix. and there’s energetic Serbian-Roma music from Faith i Branko on Wednesday 16 Oct.

Music Legends this season include Miranda Sykes on Friday 6 Sep, Andy Fairweather Low on Saturday 14 Sep, The Strawbs on Friday 20 Sep, Ralph McTell on Saturday 28 Sep, Mike Peters’ The Alarm on Wednesday 30 Oct, and Barbara Dickson & Rab Noakes on Saturday 26 Oct.

As always, we present a selection of the very best tribute acts. On Friday 6 Sep we host the fabulous Country Chix, with their lively, fun take on country music. The Carpenters’ Experience visit on Wednesday 18 Sep, Forever Elton (Elton John) on Wednesday 25 Sept, and the Counterfeit Sixties on Friday 27 Sep.

In October we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the film Quadrophenia with music from talented tribute bands plus guest musicians for Quadrophenia Night on Saturday 12 Oct. The July July Band (Sandy Denny) join us on Saturday 19 Oct in the Studio, while in the auditorium on the same night there's a not to be missed musical tour of Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, the 60th Anniversary Concert performed by Ronnie Scott's All Stars. Last but not least the ever popular powerhouse Purple Zeppelin return to Artrix on Friday 25th Oct. 

Bromsgrove Concerts kick off their 2019/20 season of classical music at Artrix on Wednesday 11 Oct with the Navarra String Quartet. Book tickets directly with Bromsgrove Concerts.

COMEDY

We are bursting with comedy talent this Autumn! Live shows include Paul Foot on Friday 27 Sep, John-Luke Roberts on Saturday 28 Sep, Luke Kempner on Thursday 3 Oct, Daliso Chaponda on Wednesday 9 Oct, Matt Parker on Saturday 12 Oct, Griff Rhys Jones on Friday 18 Oct, Ellie Taylor on Thursday 24 Oct, and Sofie Hagen on Wednesday 30 Oct.

Barnstormers comedy returns to the Studio on Saturday 21 Sept and 26 Oct when three top comedians from London and the UK stand-up circuit will perform each night. Entertainment is guaranteed!

On Tuesday 15 Oct Artrix is screening as a special one-night-only event Billy Connolly: The Sex Life of Bandages. This brilliant show was recorded in 2015 during Billy’s final stand-up tour. Connolly will also muse upon his career, life and legacy in a deeply personal interview filmed exclusively for cinema audiences.   

THEATRE & DANCE

Theatre highlights include New Perspectives: trade by debbie tucker green, on Thursday 10 Oct. Welcome to the Caribbean. Where the sun is hot and the living is uneasy. On Tuesday 22 Oct the Circus of Horrors celebrates 25 years of mayhem. Not for the faint hearted! The Strange Case of Dr Jekll & Mr Hyde is brought chillingly to life in this award-winning one-man show on Wednesday 30 Oct.

Vienna Festival Ballet bring their unmissable production of Snow White to Artrix on Sunday 13 Oct for two performances. This spellbinding ballet promises to entertain and dazzle the whole family.

FAMILY

Family audiences will be delighted by the rescheduled performances of Dear Zoo on Sunday 22 and Monday 23 Sep. On Tuesday 29 Oct Nick Sharratt's Right Royal Drawalong is a fun filled draw-along for all ages.

Family Cinema

Artrix's Family Matinees continue with a blockbuster film every Saturday morning at 11am, with tickets, drinks and snacks at reasonable prices!
