Dancefest presents Worcestershire Dancing

Now in its sixth year, this performance celebrates the excellence of dance taking place in education across the county.

Schools and colleges throughout Worcestershire were invited to apply, and the work you see will be a vibrant mix of dance in a range of styles, that represent creativity, progression and quality.

It includes imaginative and inventive dance from children in primary schools, and performances that show the technical and choreographic skills of students in secondary and further education.

Dancefest began life in 1990 as a festival to celebrate and raise the profile of dance. It has now grown into the main community dance development organisation for Herefordshire and Worcestershire. It runs over 35 classes a week, has four community performance companies for all ages - including an inclusive company - and offers a range of projects in schools, colleges, universities, community settings and outdoor sites.

Worcestershire Dancing builds on Dancefest’s work in education throughout the year by providing the opportunity for dancers to share their work with an audience in a professional theatre.
