Marking the 60th anniversary of Motown Records, this celebratory documentary features archive footage alongside interviews with leading musicians including Smokey Robinson, Martha Reeves, The Jacksons, John Legend and Stevie Wonder. From the birth of Motown in Detroit in 1958 until its relocation to Los Angeles in the early 1970s, the film explores how Berry Gordy created the most successful record label of all time amid racial tensions and the burgeoning civil rights movement.
