Drawing - 30th January
A new drawing workshop, led by Madeline Goold
“Do not fail as you go on, to draw something every day, for no matter how little it is it will be well worth while, and will do you a world of good”.
Cennino Cennini, The Craftsman’s Handbook, c.1400
In these sessions we’ll look at drawing ideas of the masters, and explore the different purposes of drawing – objective, preparatory, reportage, analytic, series, imaginative, experimental, expressive; for presentation, information, the evolution of ideas.
We’ll use a range of tools and media such as pencil, pen, fingers, sticks, crayon, brush and watercolour and gouache, pastel, charcoal and chalk, graphite, on paper, card, tissues and fabrics, and found materials.
And a range of techniques such as traditional mark-making, drawing, sketching, writing, collage, linear, rubbing back, resists, cutting and pasting.
Tuesday 30th January 2018 : 10am-12pm
